While he was studying psychology at Temple University, Dr. Burkitt learned how rewarding it can be to help people in need and make them smile. With a natural inclination for making people laugh and putting them at ease, Dr. Burkitt realized how well-suited he was for a career in dentistry. Since earning his DMD at the Kornberg School of Dentistry, Dr. Burkitt has worked with thousands of patients, changing their lives one smile at a time.

Dr. Burkitt and his family have been in the Roanoke area for 8 years and love the community. Now that he is opening up his own practice here in Roanoke, he is excited to offer individualized dental care for every patient. Dr. Burkitt treats everyone who walks through our door as if they were family, and he always makes sure that you and your family members fully understand the diagnosis and treatment plan. For Dr. Burkitt, dentistry is more than just diagnosis and treatment. Quality dental care involves developing meaningful relationships with the families he cares for and bonding over healthy, beautiful smiles.

When he isn't at the practice, Dr. Burkitt enjoys writing, hiking, and cooking for family and friends. His favorite thing to do, though, is spend time with his wife Ashley, their daughter Eloise, and their twin sons, Jack and Charlie.

Ashley

Ashley has been a Dental Assistant for over 16 years now. She earned her x-ray certification from Wytheville Community College. She is BLS Certified. Ashley works very well with children and she loves spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters. She is a home body, enjoys cooking, coloring,word puzzles, reading her Bible and watching movies.

Jada

Jada Nelson is the Lead Dental Assistant at We Care Dental Care with 5 years of experience and BLS certification. She specializes in patient communication, team support, & keeping clinical flow smooth and efficient.Jada enjoys assisting with same-day treatment and creating a welcoming, comfortable experience for every patient.Outside of work, she loves time with her son Joseph and her pets, Indigo and Azora.

Becca

Becca joined our team in January of 2025 and brings a wide range of experience with her. She started her career as a kindergarten teacher, was a stay-at-home mom with a successful small business, and then worked in the financial industry for 5 years. She loves working at our office and especially getting to know the patients and making their experience enjoyable. Becca has been married for 34 years and has 3 beautiful daughters, many great friends, and loves cooking, reading, and traveling.
